Description Pictures
The Loyalists coming from New York developed this area with Lieutenant-Governor Nicholas Cox. It was certainly in his honor that the village was so-named because he was a native of Carlisle, England. It was also here that the first French radio station in eastern Quebec went on air in 1933. Rene Levesque, one of the most famous Premiers of Quebec, was born here.

You will be impressed by the number of New England style heritage homes here. Informative panels in front of some of them tell us about their history. There is also a golf course on the western limits of the city.
