| Nouvelle was named after the Jesuit priest, Henri Nouvel. The river bordering the village also bears the same name. A harness racing track is the delight of horseracing enthusiasts. Annually, at the beginning of September, the truckers' championship is held here. Apart from the competition, there is an exhibition and a contest for the best looking truck. For salmon anglers there is a ZEC on Nouvelle River.
