This village, founded in 1943, was named in memory of the founding parish priest, Joseph-Edgar Miville, a native of Cap-Chat.

The first thing you will notice when you arrive in Saint-Edgar is the covered bridge. It is 89 meters long and was inaugurated in 1938. It is the longest covered bridge in the Gaspésie.

Situated inland on the west shore of Little Cascapedia River and surrounded by forest, this village has many attractions to offer: a museum, an interpretation centre including forest trails with interpretation panels and a ZEC for salmon fishing.
