Saint-Jules began as a small mission in 1899. The village is named in honor of Saint-Jules 1st, Roman pope from 337 to 352. An important characteristic of Saint-Jules: it is bordered by water on 3 sides: Bay of Chaleur to the south, Cascapedia River to the east and Angers River to the north. There is also Gallagher Lake nearby.
From Grande-Cascapedia you get to Saint-Jules by crossing a bridge. While you cross that bridge look to your left. You will see Mercier Bridge. It has two levels: the top one for trains and the one below used to be for cars. Saint-Jules is a peaceful village known for its maple grove.
