Cap-Chat is now synonymous with wind power. As a matter of fact, you will find part of the biggest windmill park in Canada right here with 76 windmills producing electricity commercially. You will have the best view of the park coming from the west. There is also Eole, the highest vertical windmill in the world (110 m). Visit the interpretation centre telling you more about these giants.
Cap-Chat offers many other fine attractions, such as the lighthouse (closed to the public) and the famous rock shaped like a sitting cat.
Wildlife, nature and breathtaking scenery interest you? From Cap-Chat, go inland to Saint-Octave-de-l'Avenir, the site of a remote village closed down in 1972. If offers an incredible view of the Chic-Chocs mountains.
Come to Cap-Chat in winter to enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or a ride in a snowmobile.
