Description Pictures
L'Ascension-de-Patapedia was founded in 1937 under the name L'Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur. It became L'Ascension-de-Patapédia only in 1968. Patapédia comes from the Micmac and means "irregular and capricious current", referring without a doubt to Patapedia River.

This hamlet is truly a paradise for nature lovers. Hike the trails leading to the magnificent viewpoints from the Soleil d'Or site. There are two viewpoints overlooking Ristigouche River that must be visited. They are 335 m high and offer a perfect view of anglers and canoeists on the river.

From here you also have access to hiking trails in the forest.
