Description Pictures
In 1896, people came from Lac-Saint-Jean, Cap-Chat, Sainte-Felicite, Sainte-Flavie and Baie-des-Sables to colonize the region. Saint-Léon-le-Grand mission was officially founded in 1901 honoring father Leon D'Auteuil, former priest of Les Mechins and Cap-Chat. He was the first to celebrate mass in this hamlet.

Situated at the foot of the mountains and on the shores of Humqui Lake, Saint-Leon-le-Grand is an agricultural village offering a recreation park and an outdoor pool.

Walk up the Montagne des Erables trail leading to stone sculptures, paintings and the vestiges of the cross.
