Usually referred to as the entrance to the Matapedia Valley, Sainte-Angele, one of the first hamlets founded by Rimouski's Bishop Jean-Langevin, honors Angèle Drapeau, lord of Lepage-et-Thivierge and a benefactress in the village. Visitors will certainly enjoy the view of the farmlands surrounding Sainte-Angèle. Mitis River splits the village in two.
