The first settlers arrived in Sainte-Paule around the end of the XIXth century. Even at that time, the forest industry was booming as indicates the presence of a sawmill in 1897. But the first colonists officially arrived in 1912.
With time, Sainte-Paule became a nice quiet hamlet. Go up the hill in the center of the village and take a refreshing view of the landscape.
On the road leading to Hwy 195 east, there is the beautiful Coulée-Carrier covered bridge, built in 1936. You will have to stop the car and walk through the bridge since it is closed to automobiles.
